Clocks, watches, clockwork, sundials, clepsydras, timers, time recorders, marine chronometers, and atomic clocks are all examples of instruments used to measure time. In current usage, horology refers mainly to the study of mechanical time-keeping devices, while chronometry more broadly includes electronic devices that have largely supplanted mechanical clocks for the most accuracy and precision in time-keeping. People interested in horology are called horologists. That term is used both by people who deal professionally with timekeeping apparatus (watchmakers, clockmakers), as well as aficionados and scholars of horology. Horology and horologists have numerous organizations, both professional associations and more scholarly societies. This is a collection of over 150 books and publications that cover the study of horology. Also included on this DVD is 3.5 hours of classic timekeeping films and videos. Some of these vintage books are over 100 years old, dating back to the early days of watch making and repair. Also included is a set of non-english titles in French, German, Italian, and Latin as well. The titles included are as follows: Accutron Repair Manuals (others sell these separately alone for a higher price, don't be tricked by amateurs!) If the item does not arrive by the last promised ship date in ebay, please email us and let us know, and we will make it right. NON-USA CUSTOMERS: Same deal above, except your packages typically have been taking about 2 weeks or so after we ship them. We've noticed that maybe 20% of overseas customers have been waiting as long as 4+ weeks for these shipments.
